What you might want to know

The chicken plumage plucker machine is a marvelous invention, beloved by home cooks and professional chefs alike. This handy tool can make quick work of removing feathers from chicken, saving precious time in the kitchen.

The best part of the chicken feather plucker machine is its 92 fingers - less than the 106 or 110 fingers found on other models. This allows for a more gentle plucking action that is less destructive to the meat, resulting in a tastier final product. Reviews tell us that it is best to put maximum 1-2 birds at once for best results.

So what are a couple of seconds more for a clean and undamaged dinner meat? The whole procedure takes only 15-30 seconds. Just make sure it is scolded at the right temperature. With the chicken plume plucker machine, you can enjoy delicious, feather-free chicken with minimal effort. Bon Appetit!

Our Favorite For You!

Our Favorite Chicken Plucker Machine

With all the different chicken pluckers out there it can be very hard to find the right one so we have found the perfect one for your needs.

The SuperHandy Chicken Plucker made by Great Circle Machinery Corp in Canada, is our favorite, because it has a fair price, has a lively color with very easily maneuverable tires, huge durable drum, works well and has an almost 5-star rating (97%).  The Yardbird is a better seller overall because it is a bit cheaper, however, it has a stronger motor and more fingers, which can easily damage the chicken meat. The SuperHandy is gentler, it might take 5 seconds longer, but it is worth it to me, and remember to only use 1-2 birds at a time for best results.  The good thing is, the choice is yours. Happy ordering!

Just make sure you always have a water hose handy so you can quickly remove the remaining feathers from the machine immediately, you don’t want to find out how hard it is to remove dried up feathers later.  Why we chose this type of plucker is because of its legs, they much more sturdy than the box pluckers with the four tiny wheels that could break off much easier.

Tip: So, if you’re in the market for the best chicken plucker, make sure you order one before the next harvest season arrives, so you can be prepared and have plenty of time to get used to using your new toy.

Pros:

  • Saves a lot of time
  • Fairley Priced
  • The best chicken pluckers are easy to clean
  • Take with you to other farms and help out
  • Rubber fingers are replaceable

Concerns:

  • No more than 2 birds at a time or meat will be damaged
  • Must have garden hose handy to clean immediately

FAQ's About Chicken Plucking Machines

How does a plucker machine work?

Plucker machines are used to remove feathers from birds. They typically consist of a large cylinder with rotating blades that strip the feathers from the bird as it passes through.

The feathers are then collected and can be used for various purposes, such as making stuffing for pillows or for the toys your pets played to rough with.

Who invented the automatic chicken plucker?

The automatic best chicken plucker was invented by William C. Pollard in 1894. He received a patent for his invention on November 10, 1894.

The automatic best chicken plucker was invented by Homer C. Wadsworth in the early 1900s.

The best chicken plucker was invented by Andrew Toti & Kent Tomlinson in the 40s. Draw your own conclusion.

How long does a chicken plucker take?

It only takes a few minutes to pluck a chicken if you have the right tools. The best chicken plucker can remove all the feathers in just a few seconds, leaving the bird completely naked.

There are a few different types of the best chicken plucker on the market, but my personal favorite is the electric model. It's quick and easy to use, and it doesn't make a mess. Plus, it's really fun to watch!

How many RPM does the best chicken plucker have?

That's a great question! I'm not sure about the exact number of RPMs, but I can tell you that the best chicken plucker is designed to remove feathers quickly and efficiently.

They typically have multiple blades that rotate at high speed, making quick work of even the heaviest plumage.

Of course, all that feather-removing can create quite a bit of noise and dust, soar muffs and goggles are recommended when using one of these handy machines! The best chicken plucker for a homestead has 300 RPMs of spinning force.

How are chickens plucked in a factory?

If you thought plucking your own feathers was a pain, spare a thought for the poor chickens that have to go through the process on an industrial scale.

Thanks to modern technology, feather removal is now performed by a machine called a “picker,” which includes hundreds of different available colors, but most are yellow rubber fingers that rotate around to remove the feathers.

After feathers are removed, the birds are sent to an “eviscerating” line which removes internal organs and feet, also known as “paws.”
